Whether your kitchen is spacious or modestly sized, you can create a functional space with the right kitchen organizing tools. It\’s easy to make holders, racks and other storage tools for kitchen wares and utensils at home. Empty cans can be put to organizational use in the kitchen. All that\’s needed is a clean-edged can opener so that the open tops are smooth and safe to use.

Rinse the cans well and they can be used as holders for kitchen utensils, knives or flatware. You can paint the cans in vibrant hues or decorate them with pretty contact paper to add a dash of color to your kitchen space. Containers used for canned tomatoes and other produce have beautiful illustrations on them so they can be used as is for your upcycling project.

Another idea is to paint the cans in a solid color and use craft stencils to label them. Label the cans as \”kitchen utensils\”, \”flatware\”, \”serving spoons\”, etc. Make \”for baking\”, \”for cooking\” and \”for serving\” labels with stickers or stencils to label utensil holders. This organization system is great for keeping your kitchen utensils sorted and organized and this project can work with different kinds of containers such as mason jars, kitchen canisters or canning jars.

If you want to save kitchen countertop space, you can make hanging utensil holders. You can either choose to hot-glue heavy-duty magnets to the cans and stick them to a magnetic spice rack or drill a hole through the back of a can and screw it to a wooden rack.

Empty cans can be repurposed to make a wine rack. Use a can opener to remove the tops and the bottoms of the cans. Spray-paint the outside of each can and when they\’re dry, glue them together with a strong adhesive. Arrange the cans in a pyramid shape for an artful and balanced wine rack.

Curtain rods and shower rods can be used to hang kitchen wares like cooking pots, pans, ladles or colanders. Install the curtain rod in your kitchen at a comfortable height and use S-hooks to hang the kitchen wares neatly in your kitchen.

Use things around your home to make creative storage for your kitchen wares.
